So we went to see the doctor again today and he said I'm about the same.... dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced. I'm trying not to be impatient but my feet were so swollen this morning that I could hardly get them into my shoes for work and then once I did, my toes were numb half the morning. I went and had a pedicure yesterday (I have cute flowers on my big toes) but I felt bad for the "manicurist"-- she was massaging my feet and her fingers were disappearing into folds of water-retaining skin... SO GROSS! 

I'm glad to have Brandon home from his trip to Chaco canyon. We're still thinking about baby names... once again we are having difficulty with the girl's name. The boy name is still alternating between Benjamin and Brigham

Now its kinda a race to see who delivers first. Me, Alyson Brown (my sis-in-law), or my friend Shannon. We're all due within a few days of each other.... I'm due first, but just watch me go last.... I would be very frustrated!  :)

Didn't know we had a puppy, did ya?

Eleanor has found one of her favorite past-times to be pretending to be a puppy. We have to frequently remind Quincy,  (who gets to be "the people") that she cannot tie anything around Eleanor's neck to use as a leash. Apparently, until we get a dog that will do this for us, Eleanor will occasionally give up the benefit of her opposable thumbs in exchange for carrying things around in the clutches of her incisors... :)

Easter came early... Didn't you hear?

Quincy has been bugging me for days about coloring eggs and hiding eggs and having an Easter egg hunt. So I gave in, and we had fun coloring eggs in the kitchen. Eleanor woke up from her nap near the end of the activity-- early enough to get her fingers colored but not early enough to make a huge mess. 

It's a little early, but I doubt it will happen closer to Easter because of the baby's expected arrival. The picture of Quincy with the egg really close to her face was after she started kissing the eggs, telling them she loved them-- Eleanor, of course, followed suit.

Happy Friday the 13th!

I went to see my OB yesterday. Everything went well. We scheduled an induction date for April 10th, but according to the doc, I won't make it that long. That would be a first for me! But, its kind of an eye opener to realize that I am within a month of having a new member of our family and to be able to see my ankles again. :) Due date is April 4th. I've started filling out paperwork.

But, the countdown officially begins... we're starting a guess list: Make your predictions....

Is it spring yet?

We enjoyed the small stretch of warm weather last week and Brandon broke out the hammock I got him for Christmas. He seemed to enjoy it (as did the girls...). We also BBQ'd some steaks and even had some dutch oven cooking. Now we're just waiting for the next warm streak. Pregnancy continues, a lot of Braxton-Hicks contractions and even my pregnancy clothes are starting to get too small now, and yet we will haven't decided on a name for baby.

*sigh*

What's in a name?

So, I'm officially 32 weeks pregnant (and the fetus is weighs the same amount as a Jicama-- in case you wanted to know... the pregnancy website I subscribe to always compares the fetal size to food items). So we are down to 8 weeks (actually, it will probably be a little longer considering my history)-- BUT.... WE STILL DON'T HAVE A NAME! In fact, WE'RE NOT EVEN CLOSE! Brandon suggested the other day that we just don't name the baby and "it" goes by "No Name Haslam" the rest of his/her life (or until it could pick its own name-- but then we'd end up with a kid named "frankenstein" or something). I didn't think that was very funny. We are just really having a hard time this go around-- with both boy and girl names! It's very frustrating.

potato peeler

So the other day I was fixing mashed potatoes and pork chops and Quincy said she wanted to help me peel the potatoes. Except for one small injury that she bravely took in stride, we faired pretty well. Dinner was a little (okay, a lot) delayed and we used more potatoes than I originally thought we would, as Quincy was a very determined potato peeler (and apparently she thought we were having potato CHIPS for dinner)-- but I guess that is what you do for pre-schoolers to learn new skills, right?
